About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join the SDN/NFV team at Orange Business. You will work closely with solution architects and customers to design, develop, and deliver software solutions that run in production environments.

Key responsibilities

Analyse customer requirements and define suitable software architecture.
Develop and test code using appropriate frameworks and quality tools.
Integrate open‑source and commercial components for SDN/NFV solutions.
Participate in regular progress reviews with customers.
Collaborate with architects and developers to build, test and support the final solution.
Produce technical documentation and user manuals.
Contribute lessons learned and code back to the open‑source community.

Required profile

BSc in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Communication Engineering.
3‑6 years of professional software development experience.
Strong passion for clean code, unit testing and continuous delivery.
Critical thinking, problem‑solving and teamwork orientation.

Required skills

Object‑oriented programming, design patterns, micro‑services architecture.
XML, JSON, YAML, RESTful APIs, Swagger/OpenAPI, gRPC, Protobuf.
Programming in C/C++, Python or Go.
Version control (Git, Gerrit), build tools (Maven, Make), CI/CD (GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible).
Databases: SQL, MySQL, MariaDB, Redis.
Linux OS, shell scripting.
Virtualisation (KVM, VMware, OpenStack) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, LXC, Rancher, Helm).
Agile methodologies, Scrum, JIRA, Confluence.
Automated testing frameworks such as Selenium, Robot Framework, PyTest, JUnit, Mockito.
