Staff QA Engineer (Automation & AI)

About the role

Procore is seeking a Staff QA Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of its customer‑facing and internal applications. You will work in a fast‑paced, agile environment, collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and DevOps teams.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with cross‑functional teams to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Review requirements, designs, and specifications to identify risks and testability concerns.
• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies, plans, and cases covering functional, integration, regression, exploratory, API, and end‑to‑end testing.
• Build, maintain, and enhance automated test suites using modern frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and monitor quality gates.
• Analyze defects, determine root causes, and collaborate with developers for resolution.
• Leverage AI‑powered tools to improve test case generation, defect analysis, risk assessment, and overall QA productivity.
• Mentor senior and junior QA engineers and promote a culture of quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in software quality assurance and testing.
• Strong understanding of testing methodologies, quality engineering principles, and Agile practices.
• Experience with manual and automated testing of web applications and REST APIs.
• Proven ability to work with distributed systems, microservices, or cloud‑native applications.
