Statutory Reporting Controllership Specialist

About the role

The Statutory Reporting Controllership Specialist ensures technical accounting compliance, maintains robust financial and operational internal controls, drives process simplification and supports accurate statutory financial statements. The role requires a strong foundation in accounting best practices, advanced analytical capabilities and collaboration across finance and business functions, and also supports data readiness and standardization, including automation and AI-driven solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Complete statutory and regulatory filings on time and in line with country-specific legal and regulatory requirements.
• Apply technical accounting knowledge to statutory audits and prepare and file financial statements in line with local standards.
• Support direct tax teams in preparing and submitting income tax returns by statutory deadlines.
• Run periodic data readiness checks (chart-of-accounts mapping, trial balance structure, source-system gaps) to fix data quality and process issues before reporting cycles.
• Act as a subject-matter resource, coordinate small low-risk projects, communicate technical matters clearly and partner with the Statutory Transformation Team on automated solutions.
• Document process maps and standard work, use data analytics and data science to strengthen reporting insights, and support continuous improvement and process simplification.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in financial statement audits and local accounting compliance.
• Fluency in English and French.
• Experience with a Big 10 audit firm is a strong advantage.
• Ability to analyze issues, root-cause problems, document and run programs, and manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Required skills

• Data analytics, including Power BI or similar tools.
• Process mapping or standard work documentation (value-stream mapping).
