Steward – Hotel Dishwashing & Operations

About the role

The Steward ensures that all dishware, glassware and kitchen equipment are cleaned, stored and ready for service in a luxury all‑inclusive resort. Working on a rotating shift schedule, the role supports the food‑and‑beverage team by maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, pull, stack cleaned items and return soiled items for re‑scrubbing.
• Monitor water temperature and chemical levels, run the dishwasher with the correct cycle and document usage.
• Clean and maintain the dishwashing machine, including trash removal, spray‑arm cleaning and troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Store clean wares in designated areas and ensure buffet equipment is functional before service.
• Control employee entry/exit times, break periods and coordinate duties across all shifts.
• Manage garbage collection areas and enforce waste‑reduction procedures.
• Participate in Emergency Response Teams and implement energy‑saving and environmental initiatives.
• Apply quality‑management and food‑safety standards throughout the department.

Required profile

• At least a primary school diploma.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, or 1 year in a lower‑level position with demonstrated competence.
• Previous training in dishwashing or related hospitality operations.
• No foreign‑language requirement.
