Steward – Hotel Utility Cleaner

About the role

The Steward supports essential hotel operations by maintaining cleanliness across multiple departments, including kitchen, food & beverage, and laundry. Working at the Sheraton in Alexandria, you will ensure guests enjoy spotless dining ware and fresh linens while upholding safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize dishes, cookware, and dining equipment using dishwashing machines and hand‑wash stations.
• Operate and maintain linen washers, dryers, and other cleaning equipment.
• Transport dishware, utensils, and linens between hotel areas efficiently.
• Follow health, safety, and company policies to create a safe workplace.
• Report accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to supervisors promptly.
• Assist with other reasonable duties as directed by supervisors.

Required profile

• No high school diploma or GED required.
• No prior related work experience needed.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 lb without assistance.
• Capability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and perform repetitive motions.
• Strong teamwork attitude and professional appearance.

Required skills

• Operation of dishwashing machines.
• Use of linen washing and drying equipment.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
