System Engineer – Server & Infrastructure Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a System Engineer to join our IT team and ensure the reliability, security, and performance of our server infrastructure. You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, storage, and related services in line with our standards and project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Install new servers and rebuild existing ones, configuring hardware, peripherals, services, directories, and storage.
• Maintain backup infrastructure, perform daily backup operations, and manage archival and purge processes.
• Provide incident and problem support, including on‑call and out‑of‑hours assistance.
• Monitor system health, verify integrity and availability of hardware, servers, and key processes, and review logs.
• Conduct regular security monitoring to detect possible intrusions.
• Create, modify, and delete user accounts as requested.
• Repair and recover from hardware or software failures, coordinating communication with affected parties.
• Apply operating‑system patches, upgrades, and update administrative tools and utilities.
• Research and develop new technologies, adding new services when needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in server installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Ability to work on‑call and respond to incidents outside regular hours.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware and software issues.
• Familiarity with backup solutions and security monitoring practices.
