Technical Design Designer – Apparel

About the role

Centric Brands is seeking a Technical Design Designer to lead end‑to‑end technical support for apparel products. You will ensure that designs meet quality standards, cost targets, and delivery schedules while collaborating closely with vendors, merchandisers, and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide full technical support from concept to bulk production, guaranteeing cost efficiency and on‑time delivery.
• Conduct kickoff meetings, line reviews, and critical safety call‑outs for children’s garments.
• Manage sample matrices, FIT/PP evaluations, trim and fabric verification, and construction checks.
• Perform CAD pattern verification, corrections, and Gerber adjustments as needed.
• Upload sample reports to the PLM system, create mock‑up suggestions, and review vendor fit samples.
• Coordinate 3D samples, e‑pattern corrections, and layout approvals.
• Maintain daily sample logs, SOPs for factory utilization, and safety case learning.
• Collaborate with merchandisers, buyers, and suppliers to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in wear‑tech or technical design.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of garment design, construction trends, and best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Garment Engineering or a related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• CAD pattern design and modification (Gerber preferred).
• Experience with PLM systems (Flex PLM a plus).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Competence with Adobe products.
