Tendering and Procurement Electrical Engineer

About the role

The Tendering and Procurement Electrical Engineer will prepare cost-effective, technically compliant electrical tenders and manage the procurement of electrical materials and equipment for a variety of projects. The role ensures competitive pricing, vendor selection and timely delivery while maintaining quality standards and project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Review tender documents, drawings, specifications and BOQs.
• Conduct site visits when required to understand scope of work.
• Coordinate with design and engineering teams to prepare technical and commercial proposals.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates for LV, MV, lighting, power, cabling, earthing and related systems.
• Solicit, evaluate and analyse quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements and applicable standards.
• Identify reliable suppliers, evaluate vendor capabilities and negotiate pricing, payment terms and delivery schedules.
• Prepare purchase requests and orders, obtain approvals and track procurement schedules.
• Verify that procured materials meet project specifications and standards.
• Maintain procurement records and documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–7 years of experience in tendering and/or procurement within construction, MEP or contracting.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and building-services products.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
