Tendering and Procurement Mechanical Engineer

About the role

The Tendering and Procurement Mechanical Engineer will lead the preparation of mechanical tenders and manage the procurement of equipment and materials for construction and industrial projects in Cairo. You will work closely with design, engineering and site teams to ensure technical compliance, cost effectiveness and timely delivery of mechanical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse tender documents, drawings, BOQs and specifications to determine project requirements.
• Perform quantity take‑offs and cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, firefighting and related mechanical works.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop technical proposals.
• Source, evaluate and obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Prepare and submit tender packages that meet technical and commercial criteria within deadlines.
• Attend pre‑tender meetings, site visits and clarification sessions with clients or consultants.
• Select suppliers based on compliance, price, quality and delivery schedule.
• Issue purchase orders, track approvals and monitor material delivery.
• Negotiate commercial terms to achieve best value.
• Maintain procurement records, supplier databases and pricing logs.
• Coordinate with logistics to ensure timely on‑site delivery of materials.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–7 years of experience in mechanical tendering and procurement, preferably in MEP or construction.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and firefighting systems.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Revit, AutoCAD and estimation/procurement software such as CCS, SAP or Oracle.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
