Tour Leader – Guide Groups in Egypt

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Tour Leader to welcome and guide visitor groups throughout Egypt, primarily operating from Hurghada. You will be the main point of contact for travelers, ensuring a safe, informative and enjoyable experience from start to finish.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome tour groups at the designated starting point and verify participant attendance.
• Guide groups, highlighting and explaining points of interest, local customs, languages and currency.
• Manage travel arrangements, stopovers, route adjustments and handle passport/visa issues, emergencies, illnesses, accidents, lost luggage and complaints.
• Collaborate with Operations to implement safety protocols, disaster recovery and evacuation procedures.
• Coordinate with bus captains and other parties to ensure smooth tour operations.
• Monitor safety and security of participants throughout the trip.
• Provide clear briefings on destination information, logistics and expectations.
• Respond to emergencies and unforeseen situations, minimizing disruption.
• Collect feedback and suggest improvements for vendors, itineraries and overall service quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Hospitality or a related field.
• Fluency in English; additional German or French is a plus.
• Minimum two years proven experience as a Tour Leader in Hurghada.
• Strong knowledge of Egyptian history, culture and major tourist attractions.
• Excellent time‑management, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle unexpected situations such as flight delays, weather changes and guest complaints professionally.

Required skills

• Fluent English (mandatory).
• Basic German or French (advantageous).
• In‑depth knowledge of Egyptian historical sites and cultural heritage.
• Presentation and public‑speaking abilities.
