About the role
The Trademark Paralegal provides essential administrative support to the trademark team, ensuring lawyers and clients receive timely and accurate assistance throughout the trademark lifecycle. Based in Cairo, the role involves direct client interaction, coordination with local agents, and management of trademark portfolios.
Key responsibilities
- Take client instructions, acknowledge receipt, and open new trademark matters.
- Advise clients on costs, document requirements, and report filing, acceptance, publication, and registration status.
- Prepare Powers of Attorney, translations, and supporting documents for clients.
- Instruct and liaise with local agents across multiple jurisdictions.
- Send reminders, follow‑up letters, and review agent invoices against cost estimates.
- Assist attorneys with draft client invoices, filing strategies, specifications, and responses to adverse examination reports.
- Draft Arabic submissions, search reports, opposition notices, counter‑statements, and deeds of assignment.
- Update records, manage deadlines, and prioritize work according to timelines.
- Compile documents for declarations or affidavits and ensure they are execution‑ready.
- Coordinate with the IP Administrator team to file, renew, or otherwise manage trademarks accurately.
- Conduct conflict checks, open new files, and support general matter administration, including invoicing queries and portfolio management.
Required profile
- At least a diploma; a trademark paralegal qualification is desirable.
- Minimum two years of experience working in trademark matters.
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Arabic.
- Team‑oriented, able to work autonomously with strong attention to detail.
- Commercially aware with a practical approach to legal matters.
