About the role

The Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administrative Services serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Louisiana State University of Alexandria. Reporting directly to the Chancellor and sitting on the Executive Council, the incumbent provides strategic leadership for financial planning, administrative operations, human resources, contracts, and legal coordination across the university.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute long‑term financial strategies that ensure institutional sustainability and support the university’s mission.
• Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, cash management, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Lead administrative services, including human resources, procurement, facilities, and legal affairs.
• Serve as the primary liaison with the LSU System on financial and administrative matters.
• Collaborate with academic and operational leaders to align resources with strategic priorities.
• Provide counsel to the Chancellor on fiscal health, risk management, and organizational effectiveness.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in financial management, preferably within higher education or a public‑sector institution.
• Proven ability to lead large, complex administrative functions and drive strategic initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of public‑sector accounting standards, budgeting processes, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills to work with academic, board, and system stakeholders.
