Workplace Investigator

About the role

Hitachi Energy's Office of Special Investigations (OSI) is looking for a Workplace Investigator in New Cairo. OSI is an independent function tasked with safeguarding workplace integrity and organizational reputation. The Workplace Investigator leads complex, high-impact investigations across the MEA region, working with senior leaders from Legal, Integrity and HR, and influences key employment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct workplace and labour-related investigations under the direction of the Head of OSI, independently or with colleagues from Legal & Integrity and HR.
• Manage investigations end to end: data collection and review, forensic analysis, witness and subject interviews, fact-finding and report preparation.
• Interview whistleblowers, witnesses, victims and subjects while keeping objectivity, confidentiality and procedural fairness.
• Present findings to disciplinary committees and other decision-making bodies.
• Support investigations across the MEA region and contribute to global investigations as required.
• Travel up to 10% to support investigations and stakeholder engagement.
• Deliver training and guidance to Legal & Integrity and HR teams, and help improve internal controls, policies and processes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, procedures and guidelines, and uphold Hitachi Energy's values of safety and integrity.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in corporate, workplace, employee relations, ethics, compliance or misconduct investigations.
• Educational background in Law, Audit, Compliance, Human Resources or a related discipline preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct objective, independent and thorough investigations with sound judgment and discretion.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Comfortable working in multicultural environments and collaborating with Legal, Integrity, HR and business stakeholders.

Required skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication, including clear investigation reporting.
• Experience with eDiscovery and investigation platforms such as Relativity or ZyLAB is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and handle complex, cross-functional investigations.
