Case Worker – Aswan (Child Protection)

About the role

The Case Worker will join Save the Children’s Child Protection team in Aswan, Egypt, to deliver best‑interest assessments, case management and psychosocial support for vulnerable children, including unaccompanied minors. The role is field‑based, with at least 70% of time spent on site supporting children and local communities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct Best Interest Assessments (BIA) and prepare related reports when required.
• Follow‑up and monitor individual cases of unaccompanied minors and children at risk.
• Implement case management in line with Save the Children policies, donor guidelines and child safeguarding standards.
• Develop and update monthly case‑load reports and contribute to project planning.
• Facilitate orientation, workshop and follow‑up visits for the project.
• Co‑facilitate psychosocial support and awareness sessions together with the Psychosocial Activities team.
• Support programme teams as needed and promote children’s rights, especially in emergencies.

Required profile

• Minimum of 12 months experience in child protection, case work or a related field.
• Fluent in Arabic and English (both written and spoken).
• Willingness and ability to spend the majority of time in field locations.
• Understanding of child safeguarding level 3 requirements.
