Human Resources Generalist

About the role

The HR Generalist will build and lead the Human Resources function for a new business operation in Egypt. Reporting to senior management, you will design and implement HR policies, processes and systems while ensuring full compliance with Egyptian labour law. You will own the complete employee lifecycle from recruitment through off‑boarding.

Key responsibilities

• Design, document and roll out HR policies, handbooks, forms and templates aligned with local legislation.
• Implement and maintain HR information systems, ensuring accurate employee records.
• Manage statutory compliance, including registration with the Social Insurance Authority and coordination of all required government documentation.
• Lead end‑to‑end recruitment, prepare offers and contracts, and oversee onboarding and induction programs.
• Serve as primary HR contact, handling employee relations, grievances, disciplinary actions and investigations.
• Coordinate performance management processes, including probation reviews, annual evaluations and performance improvement plans.
• Support compensation, benefits, payroll administration and off‑boarding activities.
• Monitor legislative updates and drive continuous improvement of HR processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce or related field.
• Professional HR certification (CIPD, SHRM‑CP, PHRi or equivalent) preferred.
• 5–8 years of progressive HR Generalist experience, preferably in start‑up or greenfield environments.
• Demonstrated ability to establish HR functions from scratch and ensure compliance with Egyptian labour law.
