Internal Audit Section Head – Lead Audits & Risk Management

About the role

The Internal Audit Section Head will lead the planning, execution, and reporting of audits across financial, operational, compliance, and process areas. You will work closely with senior management to identify risks, improve controls, and ensure robust governance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed audit programs based on the approved annual audit plan and supervise their execution.
• Identify and assess key operational and financial risks, evaluate internal controls, and recommend mitigation measures.
• Assign audit tasks, monitor progress, coach auditors, and evaluate team performance.
• Review audit findings, discuss root causes with process owners, and prepare clear audit reports.
• Monitor implementation of corrective actions and report overdue or high‑risk items.
• Review policies, SOPs, and delegation of authority to identify control gaps and propose cost‑effective improvements.
• Utilize ERP systems and analytical tools to detect unusual transactions and support continuous monitoring.
• Maintain effective communication with Finance, Operations, HR, Procurement, Sales, IT, and present findings to the Internal Audit Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
• Professional certifications strongly preferred (e.g., CIA, other audit or risk certifications).
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in internal audit, external audit, risk management, internal controls, operational or financial audit.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Internal Audit Standards and risk‑based auditing.
• Deep understanding of internal controls and business processes.
• Financial statement and accounting expertise.
• Experience with operational and compliance audits.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and audit analytics tools.
• Ability to develop exception reports and perform data‑driven analysis.
