Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading engineering consulting firm in Cairo. The role focuses on delivering complex commercial and residential building services projects in Saudi Arabia, using advanced BIM and Revit techniques to create innovative, clash‑free designs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform end‑to‑end mechanical design and analysis, including heating/cooling load calculations, hydraulic sizing, and external static pressure assessments.
• Develop detailed Revit models at LOD 350 or higher, ensuring accurate spatial allocation, clash detection, and constructability details.
• Design HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire‑protection systems for high‑rise residential compounds, malls, offices, and other large‑scale developments.
• Prepare comprehensive drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for all project phases, from concept to IFC issuance.
• Coordinate with project managers, lead engineers, clients, and architectural/electrical teams to resolve design conflicts and meet schedule and budget targets.
• Conduct value‑engineering studies to optimise cost, energy efficiency, and sustainability while complying with international and Saudi codes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4–6 years of progressive experience in mechanical building‑services design within a consulting environment.
• Proven track record on high‑end commercial and residential projects, preferably with exposure to Saudi Arabian requirements.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Revit and BIM workflows.
• Strong mechanical engineering analysis skills (load calculations, hydraulic design, pressure calculations).
• Design expertise in HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire‑protection systems.
• Experience creating detailed LOD 350+ models and managing clash detection.
• Ability to produce detailed drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
