Mechanical Engineer, Engineering Services

About the role

Valeo is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its Engineering Services team. You will be responsible for creating and developing mechanical concepts for new automotive products and enhancements, ensuring they meet performance, cost, and manufacturability targets.

Key responsibilities

• Generate mechanical concepts and execute detailed designs for new products and upgrades.
• Develop and maintain complex 3D models in SolidWorks and create 2D drawings.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to optimize cost and reliability.
• Perform tolerance stack‑up analysis, GD&T, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS.
• Produce complete design documentation, including ECOs, BOMs, and specifications.
• Manufacture and assemble components using hand tools and shop equipment.
• Collaborate with software, systems, manufacturing, testing, and other cross‑functional teams to transition designs to production.

Required profile

• BSc in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design or product development.
• Hands‑on experience with manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet‑metal fabrication, and additive manufacturing (FDM, SLA).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
