MEP Engineer – Project Management & Coordination

About the role

The MEP Engineer will lead the presales, design, and on‑site delivery of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing works for data‑center and industrial projects across Oman. You will act as the single technical point of contact, ensuring compliance with codes, civil‑defence requirements, safety standards and project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full MEP scope (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, ELV) from concept through site execution.
• Prepare and approve detailed designs for UPS, generators, switchgear, HVAC, cooling, BMS and fire/life‑safety systems.
• Review shop drawings, submittals and technical clarifications with consultants and subcontractors.
• Supervise in‑house teams and subcontractors, enforcing HSE compliance and quality standards.
• Coordinate inspections and approvals with Omani Civil Defence and local authorities.
• Support procurement, monitor material delivery and prevent delays.
• Track progress, manage testing, commissioning and handover documentation.
• Mitigate interface risks from split contracts using matrices, sequencing plans and risk registers.
• Lead cross‑trade coordination meetings to resolve conflicts and avoid claims.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years of MEP installation experience, at least 3 years in the GCC.
• Proven experience on industrial facilities, data‑centers or telecommunication sites.
• Strong knowledge of IEC standards and Omani Civil Defence approval processes.
• Hands‑on experience managing split‑package or multiple‑subcontractor MEP contracts.
