Planning Survey Lead

About the role

The Planning Survey Lead will head field surveys and site walkouts for underground and aerial fiber‑optic routes in Damascus, Syria. This senior position ensures accurate data collection, optimal route design, and seamless coordination with construction and engineering teams to support fiber network expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise field surveys and site walkouts for fiber‑optic network routes.
• Review and verify underground pathway assessments, mapping terminals, ducts, and fiber allocation.
• Develop and finalize OSP engineering designs and planning layouts using GIS tools.
• Translate survey findings into constructible technical drawings and route designs.
• Identify terrain, utility, and Right‑of‑Way constraints to propose cost‑effective routing solutions.
• Prepare and coordinate permitting documentation with local authorities.
• Produce Transmission Site Survey Reports, Bills of Quantities, route sketches, and as‑built documentation.
• Maintain GIS records, survey databases, and technical documentation throughout project execution.
• Coordinate with construction teams, project managers, vendors, and clients to align scope and schedules.
• Monitor survey progress, report risks, and ensure compliance with telecom standards and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 12‑16 years of experience in telecom infrastructure, OSP planning, survey management, or fiber network deployment.
• Strong understanding of telecom infrastructure, OSP fiber networks, route planning, GIS mapping, and Right‑of‑Way requirements.
