Python Backend Engineer (AI Agents & SaaS Integrations)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Python Backend Engineer to help our client build realistic backend applications, SaaS integrations, and evaluation data for autonomous AI agents. The position is a short‑term freelance contract, fully remote, with immediate start.

Key responsibilities

• Develop Python backend applications that emulate the functionality of established SaaS platforms.
• Create and maintain REST APIs, microservices, and end‑to‑end backend workflows.
• Build new SaaS connectors from scratch and adapt existing integrations as needed.
• Perform comprehensive testing and validation of integrations.
• Analyze software workflows and datasets to design realistic long‑horizon AI tasks.
• Write clear evaluation rubrics and conduct structured QA of task accuracy.
• Utilize Claude Code and other AI coding assistants throughout development and testing.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python and backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker, Git, and basic CI/CD pipelines.
• Proven ability to build backend applications, REST APIs, or microservices.
• Professional written and spoken English.
