Senior Procurement Engineer – Electrical

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Senior Procurement Engineer specializing in electrical infrastructure to manage the sourcing and acquisition of critical equipment for substations and power‑plant projects. The role combines technical evaluation, commercial negotiation and supply‑chain coordination to ensure timely delivery and compliance with project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full procurement cycle from requisition to purchase order for electrical power‑project materials and equipment.
• Source, evaluate and qualify suppliers and subcontractors based on technical, commercial and operational criteria.
• Collaborate with engineering, project management and planning teams to align procurement with project schedules.
• Monitor supplier performance, delivery dates and order status to meet project milestones.
• Review vendor quotations for major equipment such as power transformers, switchgears, MV/LV cables, protection and control systems, electrical panels and auxiliary equipment.
• Conduct technical and commercial bid comparisons and prepare recommendation reports.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties and contractual conditions.
• Prepare procurement reports, bid evaluations, comparison sheets and maintain accurate records in ERP systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power and Machines Engineering or a related electrical engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement and supply‑chain experience in electrical infrastructure, substation or power‑generation projects.
• Fluent written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle ERP).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
• Strong knowledge of electrical equipment specifications and standards.
