Shear (Knife) Operator

About the role

The Shear (Knife) Operator works on the production line at Knauf's Suez plant, ensuring that board cutting operations run safely and efficiently. You will be responsible for preparing the knife, performing quality checks, and supporting the overall production flow.

Key responsibilities

• Wear required PPE and follow all plant safety procedures.
• Check the knife, perform a cold‑run test and verify the operating system is set to “AUTO”.
• Adjust board length according to the production plan.
• Measure board dimensions (length, width, thickness, edge angle, taper depth) and test paper adhesion according to Knauf standards.
• Operate the reject belt for non‑compliant products.
• Coordinate test results with the mixer operator.
• Complete the daily knife report in RESMA (both electronic and hard copy).
• Maintain a clean work area using the 5S methodology and perform scheduled cleaning tasks.
• Report any machine faults and assist with basic maintenance actions.
