Structural Design Engineer (BIM)

About the role

The BIM Structural Engineer will develop, coordinate and control structural BIM models for alfanar Building Systems projects in Cairo. The role ensures clash‑free, constructible and well‑documented structural outputs across design, shop‑drawing and multidisciplinary coordination stages.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain BIM models for concrete, steel, foundations, slabs, beams, columns, walls, stairs and related components.
• Prepare and update structural shop drawings, plans, sections, details, schedules and quantity outputs extracted from the BIM model.
• Coordinate structural models with architectural, MEP and infrastructure teams, resolve clashes and interface issues, and support Navisworks clash detection workflows.
• Review design drawings, consultant comments and RFIs, reflect approved updates in models and drawings, and maintain model health through regular audits.

• Ability to keep technical skills up‑to‑date and follow a clear career development plan.
• Deliver planned activities on schedule, use resources efficiently and provide periodic deviation reports.
• Identify and solve operational problems, escalating complex issues when needed.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, environmental and company policies.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit Structure for modeling, detailing and documentation.
• Experience with Navisworks Manage for clash detection and coordination.
• Familiarity with BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud or equivalent CDE platforms.
• Knowledge of reinforced concrete and steel structural systems.
• Ability to produce and review structural drawings, details, schedules and revisions.
• Experience in model quality control, issue tracking and resolution.
