Tooling Preparation Production Expert

About the role

LEONI is seeking a Tooling Preparation Production Expert to manage the lifecycle of rework tools, handy tools, clip guns and other equipment during product changes and new introductions. The role bridges production engineering and suppliers, ensuring tools are delivered on time and meet all technical requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage ordering, release and change control of tooling assets, aligning with project timelines.
• Act as the primary interface between production engineering and suppliers for new tool design, specifications and delivery.
• Install, configure and support foaming, moulding and innovative tooling solutions, including robotics, AGV and VR applications.
• Create maintenance work instructions, conduct training and coach the maintenance team.
• Maintain a spare‑parts database, coordinate manufacturing or procurement of auxiliary tools, and manage initial inventory.
• Plan and execute construction or modification of assembly facilities according to specifications and standards.
• Monitor tool traceability, material status and validation, applying lessons learned across the production network.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering or production tooling.
• Proven ability in technical design review, drawing interpretation and CAD software usage.
• Experience in supplier relationship management and cross‑functional communication.
• Strong organizational and project‑management skills with the capacity to handle multiple priorities.
