Strategic Buyer – Advanced Procurement Category

About the role

The Strategic Buyer will design and execute sourcing strategies for mechanical, electrical, automation, material handling equipment and spare parts categories. Working closely with engineering, operations, project management and global procurement teams, the role ensures cost competitiveness, quality, supply continuity and strong supplier performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement commodity sourcing strategies for assigned categories.
• Lead end‑to‑end RFQ/RFP processes, including bid support, supplier evaluation, negotiation and contract finalisation.
• Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships, conduct performance audits and manage KPIs.
• Drive cost‑reduction initiatives through TCO analysis, value engineering and market benchmarking.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, logistics and global functions such as finance, legal, GDPR and IT.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical sourcing standards and maintain accurate records in the ERP system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business administration or related field.
• 1‑2 years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement within industrial, automation or manufacturing environments.
• Fluency in English; additional French, Italian or German is a plus.
• Experience working with international suppliers and global procurement processes.
• Strong negotiation, contract management and stakeholder communication skills.
• Advanced analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.

Required skills

• ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and P2P process knowledge.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the broader MS Office suite.
• Ability to conduct Total Cost of Ownership analysis and value engineering.
