Track Engineer – Railway Maintenance & Technical Oversight

About the role

The Track Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safety, availability and comfort of the light‑rail transit (LRT) network’s track and workshop installations. You will lead the reliability of maintenance operations, manage technicians and operators, and guarantee continuous service across day and night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee corrective and cyclical maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with railway safety standards and sustainability goals.
• Monitor track conditions, analyse inspection reports and coordinate track inspections and maintenance projects.
• Plan and organise logistics, resource allocation and inventory checks for online stock and equipment, especially during night shifts.
• Lead a team of technicians and operators, planning work schedules, providing training, coaching and supporting shift transitions.
• Enforce safety instructions, manage emergency interventions and promote a strong safety culture in line with company policies.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, align work execution with strategic objectives and support the Track Manager.
• Track economic impact of maintenance operations, ensure cost‑efficiency and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Track Manager.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in railway or LRT track maintenance and technical oversight.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, railway standards and sustainability practices.
• Ability to manage teams, plan resources and coordinate shift work.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
