Cost Accounting Manager – Agricultural & Export Packing

About the role

Egast is seeking an experienced Cost Accounting Manager to lead its Cost Accounting Department. You will design cost systems tailored to agricultural operations and export packing houses, and provide actionable financial insights to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cost accounting systems for crop production, packing, and export processes.
• Prepare and analyse production, crop, packing, and export cost reports on a regular basis.
• Develop annual budgets, monitor variances, and investigate root causes.
• Track raw material, labour, and operating expense consumption to optimise resource use.
• Collaborate with production, agriculture, warehouse, and procurement teams to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Define cost‑related KPIs and support strategic decision‑making.
• Supervise periodic inventory counts and ensure accurate inventory valuation.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing Cost Accounting team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce or related field; professional certifications (CMA, CPA, ACCA) preferred.
• Minimum 20 years of cost accounting experience, including 8‑10 years in a managerial role.
• Proven experience in large agricultural companies and fresh‑produce export packing houses.
• Strong background in agricultural, packing‑house, and industrial costing.
• Demonstrated ability to build a Cost Accounting department from scratch.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems and dedicated cost accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for analytical modelling and reporting.
• Ability to design cost centres and develop cost‑allocation methodologies.
