About the role
Integrant, a software development company partnering with US-based clients, is looking for a Lead Backend Engineer (C/C++) to join its growing engineering team in Cairo. The role suits a highly skilled engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, designing scalable backend systems and taking part in architecture decisions while working with cross-functional teams and international stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and maintain high-performance backend applications using C and C++, and build reusable components, libraries and frameworks.
- Take part in system architecture discussions, technical design reviews and performance optimization.
- Mentor software engineers, review code and drive best practices in design, coding standards, testing and documentation.
- Work with Product Owners, Architects, Project Leads, QA and DevOps teams, and communicate with US-based clients.
- Write unit and integration tests, support automation, troubleshoot production issues and improve reliability, performance and security.
Required profile
- 8+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proven experience building large-scale, high-performance applications and working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Direct client or distributed team experience is highly preferred.
Required skills
- Modern C++ (C++11/14/17 and beyond), OOP, data structures, algorithms and software engineering.
- Multithreading, concurrency, memory management, performance tuning and debugging.
- Sockets and networking fundamentals, Linux development, Git.
- Relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL or MySQL; distributed systems concepts; microservices a plus.
