Remote Accountant for Energy Advisory Firm

About the role

Nexus Analytica, an energy advisory and technology company, is seeking an experienced Accountant to manage day‑to‑day financial administration for its Egypt operations. This is a fully remote position, reporting to the finance team and supporting project‑based assignments.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate accounting records in Odoo, including journal entries, general ledger, and supporting documentation.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, ensuring compliance with Egyptian tax and electronic invoicing requirements.
• Review supplier invoices, verify tax documentation, and process payments after management approval.
• Handle employee expense verification, ensuring policy compliance and correct project allocation.
• Perform regular bank, cash, credit‑card and payroll reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Calculate, file and monitor VAT and other Egyptian tax obligations, coordinating with external tax advisers as needed.
• Allocate revenues and costs to project codes, supporting project managers with cost information.
• Execute monthly closing activities, produce management reports, and prepare documentation for external audits.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Odoo accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of Egyptian tax law, VAT, and electronic invoicing.
• Solid bookkeeping and financial reporting skills.
• Experience with project‑based accounting and cost allocation.
