About the role
The 1st Commis supports the daily operations of a hotel kitchen within the Accor network. You will work closely with the Chef de Partie or Demi Chef, ensuring smooth service and maintaining high standards of hygiene and efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Transport daily materials from the storage house to the kitchen.
- Assist the Chef de Partie/Demi Chef in all kitchen tasks.
- Take full responsibility for your section when the supervisor is absent.
- Prepare dishes according to menu specifications, including portion sizes and presentation.
- Maintain a hygienic work environment at all times.
- Control and monitor food stock levels.
- Report equipment issues to the Maintenance Department and submit maintenance requests.
- Participate in training and development programs as directed.
- Support the Duty Manager with assigned tasks.
Required profile
- At least a primary school diploma.
- Ability to learn the role within three years and perform duties at the expected level.
- Prior attendance in relevant training or seminars is a plus.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Required skills
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment and tools.
- Ability to operate non‑standard kitchen devices after brief training.
- Food stock management.
- Understanding of hygiene and safety standards in a hotel kitchen.
