Director of Development Department

About the role

The Director of Development Department leads St. Andrew’s Refugee Services’ strategic planning and execution to raise and sustain financial and material resources for its refugee programmes in central Cairo. This senior position reports to the Co‑Leadership group and oversees the Policy & Advocacy, Fundraising and Communications teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement cost‑effective strategic plans for resource mobilization.
• Oversee fundraising activities, donor relations and external communications.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with external donors, NGOs, and other relevant actors.
• Manage the Policy & Advocacy, Fundraising and Communications teams within the department.
• Participate in the organization’s Co‑Leadership group to ensure effective overall management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in leading development, fundraising or resource mobilisation functions.
• Strong ability to build and sustain relationships with donors and partners.
• Strategic thinking with a focus on cost‑effective and timely resource acquisition.
• Commitment to StARS’ Code of Conduct, Child Safeguarding, PSEAH policies and gender‑equality principles.
• Leadership experience in a nonprofit or humanitarian context.
