Mathematics Specialist – Remote Contract (Mid to Senior)

About the role

We are seeking a remote Mathematics Specialist to evaluate and improve AI‑generated mathematical content. This contract position is ideal for candidates with strong analytical skills and a passion for ensuring mathematical rigor in AI systems.

Key responsibilities

• Review AI‑generated solutions, proofs, and quantitative reasoning for correctness, clarity, and adherence to prompts.
• Identify errors in calculations, assumptions, methodology, or conceptual understanding.
• Generate high‑quality explanations, model solutions, and structured reasoning workflows.
• Analyze AI responses across pure and applied mathematics, statistics, probability, optimization, modeling, and discrete mathematics.
• Fact‑check mathematical claims, formulas, and derivations across multiple domains.
• Rank and compare multiple AI‑generated responses based on rigor and explanatory quality.
• Support AI model improvement through annotation, evaluation, and quality‑assurance tasks.
• Contribute to prompt development and benchmark solutions to enhance mathematical reasoning in AI.

Required profile

• MS or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field from a top‑100 university.
• Strong expertise in pure and applied mathematics, proofs, modeling, statistics/probability, and optimization.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical reasoning, and English writing skills (minimum C1).
• Experience developing or reviewing advanced mathematical materials (e.g., proofs, textbook sections, problem banks) is a plus.
• Background in research, analytical writing, programming, or advanced mathematical problem‑solving preferred.
• Prior experience with AI data training, RLHF, model evaluation, or annotation workflows is a strong advantage.
