Ruby Engineer – Remote, $30/hr

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Ruby Engineer to work remotely on a contract basis, reviewing and improving AI‑generated Ruby and Rails code. You will help ensure code quality, maintainability, and architectural soundness while supporting AI model refinement.

Key responsibilities

• Review AI‑generated Ruby and Ruby on Rails code for correctness, readability, and architectural quality.
• Evaluate backend solutions involving MVC architecture, domain modeling, refactoring, testing, and web application design.
• Identify syntax errors, Rails convention violations, and design issues in models, controllers, and services.
• Generate high‑quality reference solutions, code reviews, and architectural explanations.
• Compare and rank multiple AI‑generated responses based on technical correctness and design decisions.
• Fact‑check technical claims, framework usage, and software architecture decisions.
• Assess test quality, debugging approaches, and refactoring patterns using RSpec and Rails testing workflows.
• Support AI model improvement through annotation, code evaluation, and technical QA documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Strong professional experience with Ruby in production environments.
• Deep understanding of Ruby on Rails, MVC architecture, and idiomatic Ruby patterns.
• Hands‑on experience building and maintaining Ruby/Rails applications.
• Ability to evaluate code readability, maintainability, and architectural decisions.
• Excellent English writing and communication skills (minimum C1 proficiency).
• Experience using AI coding assistants or LLMs for programming, debugging, or code review.
• Prior involvement in AI data training, annotation workflows, or large‑scale code review is a plus.
