Senior Mechanical Design Engineer – BIM & Revit Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering consulting firm in Cairo. The role will focus on high‑profile commercial and residential projects in Saudi Arabia, using advanced BIM and Revit techniques to deliver fully coordinated mechanical designs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform end‑to‑end mechanical engineering analysis, including heating/cooling loads, hydraulic calculations and external static pressure.
• Develop detailed Revit models to LOD 350+, ensuring clash detection, spatial allocation and constructability.
• Design HVAC, plumbing, drainage and fire‑protection systems for large residential compounds, high‑rise towers and commercial buildings.
• Prepare comprehensive drawings, specifications, Bills of Quantities and IFC packages for construction.
• Coordinate with project managers, lead engineers, clients and other discipline teams to resolve design conflicts and meet project milestones.
• Conduct value‑engineering studies to optimise cost, energy efficiency and sustainability while complying with international and Saudi codes.
• Select equipment, author technical specifications and evaluate materials for suitability to regional conditions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in mechanical building services design within a consulting environment.
• Proven track record on high‑end commercial and residential projects, preferably in the Middle East.

Required skills

• Advanced Revit and BIM modelling (LOD 350+).
• Mechanical engineering analysis – heating/cooling loads, hydraulic and static pressure calculations.
• Design of HVAC, plumbing, drainage and fire‑protection systems.
• Clash detection and cross‑discipline coordination.
• Preparation of detailed drawings, specifications, BOQ and IFC documentation.
