Area Manager Egypt

About the role

As part of its continued development in Egypt, Barceló Hotel Group is seeking an experienced, highly operational Area Manager Egypt to lead its hotel portfolio, support future growth and drive performance across the country. Based in Cairo, the role combines operational leadership, hotel management expertise, business development and project oversight, and supports Hotel General Managers in achieving operational, financial and guest satisfaction targets.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the performance and operations of all hotels in the Egyptian portfolio, monitor KPIs, revenue, profitability, quality standards and guest experience, and ensure compliance with group standards and brand expectations.
• Support, coach and supervise General Managers, lead operational reviews and implement improvement plans.
• Manage leadership transitions, including departures, appointments and succession planning, and develop high-performing leadership teams.
• Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, developments, management agreements and strategic partnerships, and collaborate with Corporate Development, Technical Services and Operations on expansion projects.
• Take part in feasibility assessments, due diligence and hotel openings, and represent the group in the Egyptian hospitality market.
• Build relationships with hotel owners, investors, tourism authorities and industry partners, acting as a trusted advisor on operational performance and asset value.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Hotel General Manager in international hotel companies, with responsibility for large hotels or multiple properties; multi-property or cluster general manager experience is highly desirable.
• Significant professional experience in Egypt, especially Cairo, with deep knowledge of the local market and tourism landscape.
• Degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Tourism or a related discipline.
• Fluent English (mandatory); additional languages are an asset.
• Preferred: current base in Cairo, international hospitality exposure, and experience with international hotel brands and multicultural teams.
