Projects Manager - Engineering

About the role

Marriott Hotels & Resorts is hiring a Projects Manager in Cairo to manage and coordinate capital and operating projects assigned to the Engineering division. The role oversees the bid process, city coordination, contractors and billing, and keeps consultants, vendors, suppliers and contractors performing well so that project goals are met and the guest experience is not negatively affected.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the implementation of approved capital and operating projects, including specifications, parts and labour planning and bidding services.
• Develop requisitions and presentations for capital projects and help prepare the annual capital and operating budget.
• Negotiate general contracts for capital, operating and special events projects and manage contractors and vendors day to day.
• Manage project timelines, permits and inspections, and specify a configuration management method.
• Carry out routine inspections for quality control, local building code compliance and plan adherence, and report progress, delays and costs.
• Verify OSHA compliance, MSDS and safety precautions, and check that contractors follow local permitting procedures.
• Maintain property life safety systems such as fire fighting, sprinkler and alarm systems, and keep building and equipment licences current.
• Review guest feedback and satisfaction data and share improvement plans with property leadership.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED with 6 years of experience in project management, engineering and maintenance or a related field.
• Or a bachelor's degree in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics or a related major with 4 years of experience in engineering and maintenance, project management or a related field.
