Rooms Controller

About the role

Marriott Hotels & Resorts is hiring a Rooms Controller in Cairo. The role covers the front desk operations of assigning rooms, handling check-ins and check-outs, confirming reservations and keeping guest records accurate.

Key responsibilities

• Assign rooms according to guest requests and preferences whenever possible, and pre-register designated guests and prepare key packets.
• Organise and coordinate check-in and pre-registration for arriving groups, and set up and process all guest check-ins and check-outs.
• Review and track requests for room or check-out changes, confirm reservations and cancellations, and verify and adjust billing.
• Review out-of-order rooms daily, ensure rates match market codes and document exceptions, and file guest paperwork.
• Activate room keys, secure valid payment, identify over-commitments, run duplicate reservation checks and block rooms.
• Run daily reports, follow up with guests on their requests and problems, and receive, record and relay messages accurately.
• Follow company policies, keep proprietary information confidential, protect company assets, and comply with quality assurance standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Less than 1 year of related work experience; no supervisory experience required.
• No license or certification needed.
• Ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, use computers and POS systems, and lift objects of up to 10 pounds.
