Cement Process Consultant – Short‑Term Audit & Optimization

About the role

Elite Advisories W.L.L. is seeking an experienced Cement Process Consultant to lead a one‑week audit and optimisation project for a cement ball‑mill grinding circuit in the Middle East/Africa region. The consultant will work on‑site during a scheduled mill shutdown and then continue diagnostics while the plant is operating.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive field audit during mill downtime, inspecting liners, diaphragms, discharge grates and measuring ball‑charge filling degree and size distribution.
• Perform on‑load process sampling (feed, discharge, separator rejects, final product) and calculate core KPIs such as circulating load ratio, tromp curve and ventilation velocity.
• Analyse raw‑material variations (clinker hardness, gypsum purity, moisture of additives) and assess grinding‑aid dosing.
• Optimise air‑classifier and separator settings (rotor speed, fan volume, damper positions) to sharpen particle‑size distribution.
• Re‑engineer grinding‑media grading based on clinker grindability parameters (Bond Work Index) and recommend implementation blueprints.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in cement plant operations, specifically ball‑mill grinding circuits.
• Hands‑on experience auditing and troubleshooting mills in the Middle East or Africa.
• Ability to deliver a detailed audit report and actionable optimisation plan within one week.

Required skills

• Ball‑mill inspection and ball‑charge measurement.
• KPI calculation for cement grinding (circulating load ratio, tromp curve).
• Air‑classifier and separator tuning (rotor speed, fan air volume, damper control).
• Grinding‑media sorting and Bond Work Index application.
• Raw‑material variation analysis (clinker hardness, gypsum purity, moisture content).
