Customs Clearance Executive

About the role

The Customs Clearance Executive will manage import and export customs clearance activities, ensuring smooth, accurate, and compliant cargo movement for Live Freight. You will prepare and verify documentation, coordinate with customs authorities, shipping lines, and internal teams, and keep clients informed of cargo status.

Key responsibilities

• Handle complete import and export customs clearance procedures in compliance with regulations.
• Prepare, review, and submit clearance documents such as invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and bills of lading.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, airlines, and transport companies to secure timely cargo release.
• Manage ACID/Nafeza registrations and VGM submissions.
• Follow up with customs officers, ports, and airports to resolve clearance issues.
• Verify HS codes, tariffs, and duty structures to calculate applicable charges.
• Maintain records of clearance operations and prepare management reports.
• Provide clients with updates on cargo status and handle inquiries to ensure satisfaction.
• Communicate with banks and shipping lines for payments, duties, and release orders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in customs clearance, preferably in freight forwarding or logistics.
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations, HS codes, and trade compliance.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CargoX and Nafeza platforms.
• Experience using customs clearance platforms.
• Strong command of MS Office applications.
• Familiarity with Odoo ERP or similar systems.
