Director of Food & Beverage (Egyptians Only)

About the role

Kempinski Palace Cairo is looking for a Director of Food & Beverage, open only to Egyptian nationals eligible for a working permit. The role contributes to Kempinski's vision of being a leader in hospitality by driving the top line of the Food & Beverage Department while ensuring sustainable and profitable operations. It covers budgeting, quality assurance, supplier relations, outlet management and talent development.

Key responsibilities

• Set and enforce hotel rules, fire and safety regulations and hygiene standards including HACCP
• Prepare the yearly department budget with Finance and monthly income statements for each outlet, holding monthly performance meetings
• Drive sales to full potential, keep costs in line with sales (minimum 85% LQA score) and prepare a yearly marketing plan with Sales & Marketing
• Source products, build supplier partnerships and monitor quality and guest satisfaction
• Oversee services at least once a week, handle guest complaints promptly and conduct competitor analysis through on-site inspections
• Develop departmental trainers, run training programmes and ensure a succession plan for management positions
• Act as the main contact for the Corporate Food & Beverage Team, implement corporate policies and take executive duties as assigned by the General Manager

Required profile

• Egyptian nationality, eligible for a working permit in the country of hire
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field, or MBA
• Minimum five years in an F&B management role, including at least three years in a luxury 5-star hotel, preferably a successful standalone F&B operation
• Hands-on pre-opening experience and a track record of launching new restaurant and bar concepts
• Excellent spoken and written Arabic and English; additional languages are beneficial
• Strong leadership, communication, organisation and analytical skills, able to work under pressure
