Director of Technical Design

About the role

The Design & Technical Director will lead the full design lifecycle for TMG’s large‑scale residential, commercial and luxury hospitality projects. Acting as the bridge between concept and construction, you will ensure engineering systems, structural designs and infrastructure meet cost, safety and premium brand standards.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with international architecture and master‑planning firms to convert conceptual plans into construction‑ready blueprints.
• Guarantee alignment of architectural, structural and MEP designs with TMG’s brand identity, zoning regulations and Egyptian building codes.
• Integrate smart‑city technologies, sustainable practices and eco‑friendly infrastructure into new and existing projects.
• Direct internal engineering teams to review, approve and issue shop drawings and as‑built documents, minimizing site discrepancies.
• Oversee technical integrations such as district cooling, smart grids, water treatment facilities and advanced road networks.
• Lead value‑engineering workshops to reduce material and construction costs while preserving safety, aesthetics and luxury standards.
• Work with procurement to define technical specifications and evaluate contractor bids.
• Partner with Project Directors and Construction Managers to resolve urgent on‑site technical issues and ensure timely handovers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering; Master’s degree or certifications (PMP, LEED, Egyptian Engineers Syndicate Consultant) preferred.
• 15‑20 years of experience in real‑estate development, construction or top‑tier engineering consultancies.
• 5‑7 years in a senior leadership role (Director level or equivalent) managing large‑scale gated communities, mixed‑use developments or luxury hospitality projects in Egypt or the GCC.
• Deep knowledge of master planning, structural design, MEP coordination and infrastructure engineering.
