Duty Manager - Five-Star Hotel, Cairo

About the role

A five-star hotel in Cairo, part of the Nile City Towers complex, is looking for an enthusiastic and professional Duty Manager. The role ensures smooth daily operations and delivers exceptional guest experiences, working closely with the front office and other departments.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the front office team, fostering a collaborative and customer-focused atmosphere
• Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure high standards of service and efficiency across departments
• Manage guest relations, address concerns and enhance satisfaction
• Coordinate with other departments to keep communication and operations seamless
• Monitor and optimise room rates, occupancy levels and overbooking strategies to maximise revenue
• Hold regular team meetings and training sessions to improve performance and motivation
• Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations and safety standards
• Handle emergencies and make critical decisions when necessary
• Prepare and analyse reports on key performance indicators
• Continuously seek ways to improve guest experiences and operational efficiency

Required profile

• Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic or other languages is a plus
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays

Required skills

• Proficiency in front desk operating systems such as Opera, and understanding of GDSS
• Strong leadership, team management and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure
• Financial acumen for managing rates and overbooking strategies
