Junior Category Product Manager

About the role

The Junior Category Product Manager will own the end‑to‑end management of perishable product categories across the supply chain. You will ensure product availability, quality, and margin targets while minimizing waste and preserving cold‑chain integrity from factories to store shelves.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, onboard and manage supplier relationships; negotiate pricing, contracts and service level agreements.
• Develop accurate demand forecasts that incorporate seasonality, promotions and market trends; set reorder points and manage replenishment cycles.
• Monitor commercial performance, comparing spot versus contracted pricing and adjusting sourcing strategies accordingly.
• Collaborate with merchandising, store operations, quality, marketing and finance teams on costing, ranging, promotions and category performance reviews.
• Review supplier performance metrics (OTIF, quality rejection rate, pricing adherence) and conduct structured performance discussions.
• Analyze SKU‑level sales, margin, waste and availability data to identify slow movers, gaps and opportunities for new product introductions or delistings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in category management, procurement or supply chain.
• Proven negotiation skills with suppliers and logistics providers.
• Ability to make fast, data‑driven decisions in a time‑sensitive perishable environment.
