Mobile Equipment Operator (Level 1 or 2)

About the role

Louisiana State University of Alexandria is seeking Mobile Equipment Operators (Level 1 or Level 2) to support campus transportation, maintenance, and construction activities. Operators will work on a variety of equipment to keep the university grounds safe and functional.

Key responsibilities

• Operate field tractors, gang mowers, dump trucks, vans, flat‑bed trucks, buses, and forklifts as required.
• Perform routine transport of materials, equipment, and personnel across campus.
• Assist with maintenance and construction projects by providing reliable equipment operation.
• Follow safety protocols and report any equipment issues to supervisory staff.
• May supervise lower‑graded equipment operators or labor personnel when assigned.

Required profile

• For Level 1, no prior experience or formal training is required.
• Ability to operate equipment with power ratings up to 52 hp and handle various attachments.
• General supervision received from a foreman or higher‑level staff.
• Willingness to work onsite at the LSU‑Alexandria campus.
