MRP Planner – Material Planning Specialist

About the role

The MRP Planner will lead the weekly Make planning cycle and produce the Material Plan for assigned product categories. Working closely with the Bern Make planning organisation, the role ensures timely issue of MRP plans, escalates supply issues and supports resolution while maintaining a 24‑month rolling horizon forecast.

Key responsibilities

• Create and release the Monthly MRP Plan based on production needs, inventory levels and supplier feedback.
• Share the MRP plan with the Bern Make planning team and validate it during weekly plan review meetings.
• Identify risks and opportunities, propose constrained scenarios and coordinate with suppliers, procurement and the MRP Planning Lead.
• Monitor purchase‑order conversions, release POs to suppliers and track supplier performance.
• Check material availability, propose actions for excesses or shortages, and generate inventory projections aligned to working‑capital targets.
• Review weekly provision snapshots and develop business‑waste projections to minimise non‑consumption risks.

Required profile

• Engineering university degree.
• 2–3 years of experience in material or supply planning, preferably in FMCG.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent collaboration skills with multicultural, geographically dispersed teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with JDA (by‑JDA) planning system.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP ERP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills.
