Production Engineer

About the role

ABB is seeking a Production Engineer to lead a team within a production unit, transforming parts and raw materials into ABB products in a timely and cost‑effective manner. The role is based onsite in Egypt and reports to the Production Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a production line or unit to execute processes in line with volumes, schedules, procedures, drawings, and quality and safety standards.
• Organize and allocate resources to achieve line production targets efficiently.
• Ensure production scheduling and plans meet volume requirements and defined inventory service levels.
• Recommend technical equipment and facility improvements as needed.
• Identify deficiencies, propose improvement activities, and oversee their implementation to boost performance.
• Manage resolution of critical product or equipment issues together with internal teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing/Production Management.
• 1‑3 years of production supervision or team‑lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2 + years of experience with electrical equipment manufacturing, switchgear, or similar industrial products.
• Experience managing production lines with 20 + direct reports.
• Proven track record of meeting production targets and quality standards (ISO/IEC compliance).
• Understanding of Load Break Switches, Instrument Transformers, or related electrical distribution equipment.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as assembly, testing, and quality control.
• Familiarity with production planning systems (ERP/MES software).
• Fluent English communication skills.
