Senior Associate - Transaction Monitoring and Name Screening

About the role

PwC's Internal Firm Services (IFS) in Cairo is hiring a Senior Associate for its Transaction Monitoring and Name Screening function. The role leads the analysis and oversight of transaction monitoring and name screening processes, manages complex investigations, strengthens monitoring frameworks and mentors junior team members. It suits candidates with 3+ years of experience in financial crime prevention, anti-money laundering (AML) or a related field.

Key responsibilities

• Lead investigations of complex, high-risk transactions and identify patterns of financial crime or regulatory breaches
• Oversee and refine name screening against watchlists and databases, resolving matches accurately and escalating when needed
• Ensure full compliance with AML regulations, internal policies and industry best practice, and adapt to new regulations
• Prepare detailed reports on suspicious activity, emerging risks and trends, and present findings to senior management and regulators
• Improve transaction monitoring and name screening procedures, tools and methodologies
• Mentor junior analysts and run training sessions
• Collaborate with compliance officers, risk management teams and external partners, and lead special projects on transaction monitoring and name screening

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in transaction monitoring, name screening, AML or a related field, handling complex investigations and leading process improvements
• In-depth knowledge of AML regulations, financial crime typologies and watchlist screening
• CAMS certification preferred
