Senior Mechanical Engineer – Plant Turnarounds & Compressor Maintenance

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead planning, scheduling and field execution of major plant turnarounds, shutdowns and emergency outages at our petrochemical facility in Port Said. The role ensures safe, on‑time completion of work while maintaining critical machinery and utility systems.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and supervise major plant turnarounds, planned shutdowns and emergency outages.
• Oversee advanced maintenance of centrifugal, screw and reciprocating compressors, including dry‑gas seals, API mechanical seals and high‑capacity extruders.
• Manage reliability, inspection and maintenance of utility assets such as water‑tube boilers, cooling towers and heat exchangers.
• Establish critical spare‑parts lists, audit warehouse stock, evaluate technical bids and prevent downtime due to parts shortage.
• Track, analyse and report maintenance KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with API and ASME engineering codes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Power Engineering.
• 5–10+ years of hands‑on experience in petrochemical, oil & gas or polypropylene manufacturing plants.
• Proven track record executing major overhauls and alignments on centrifugal, screw and reciprocating compressors.
• Deep knowledge of API mechanical seal plans, dry‑gas seal systems and utility assets.
• Experience leading mechanical scopes during turnarounds and familiarity with ASME and API codes.
• Strong root‑cause analysis, technical team leadership and excellent English communication.
