Senior Procurement Engineer

About the role

The Senior Procurement Engineer oversees and manages the procurement of all engineering-related materials, equipment and services. The role covers strategy development, contract negotiation and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality goods and services to support the company's projects and operations. It reports to the Director of Operations USJob and is an on-site position.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project requirements and company objectives, and collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand needs.
• Identify, evaluate and select suppliers, build strong relationships and negotiate favourable terms.
• Prepare and review contracts, purchase orders and other documents, and manage contract variations and claims.
• Analyse and control procurement costs, conduct market research and benchmark prices.
• Ensure quality standards are met and work with quality control teams on corrective actions.
• Coordinate with suppliers and logistics teams for timely delivery and track shipments.
• Maintain records of procurement activities and supplier performance, and prepare regular reports.
• Guide junior procurement staff, foster continuous improvement and take part in cross-functional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 5 years of procurement experience, preferably in an engineering or water treatment environment.
• Fluent in English; ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team.
• Knowledge of industry standards, regulations and procurement best practices.

Required skills

• Strategic sourcing, negotiation and supplier relationship management.
• Contract management and cost management.
• Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
• Project coordination and analytical problem-solving.
• Understanding of global supply chain management, logistics, import/export regulations and cross-border supplier relationships.
